ITINERARY
The Camino Francés is walked during a 8 day period. We have divided the journey into days of similar length, and deliberately try to leave the last day a bit shorter than the others so that we arrive in Santiago de Compostela with enough time and energy to stroll around the amazing Santiago de Compostela.
Below is the city to city itinerary, and a more detailed schedule that you can share with your friends and families.
DAY 1 Madrid
We’ll meet at the the lobby of our hotel in Madrid at 3 pm, ready to hop up into our private van around this magnificent city. After a very special Mass at the Royal Holy Cathedral of Our Lady of Almudena and be blessed for our Camino Pilgrimage Journey we’ll return to our hotel

DAY 2 Madrid to León
At 9 am we’ll be on our bus to head to León, where we’ll give you your pilgrim’s kit, plus a presentation about the history of the Camino de Santiago and the beautiful Saint James legend. Our pilgrimage will keep on at dinner at a Michelin Star restaurant where we’ll be taken on a pilgrimage of sensations and flavours…
Accommodations in León

DAY 3 – Rabanal del Camino – Iron Cross – 4 miles
From Rabanal del Camino, we will continue our march to the humble Iron Cross, the highest point on the French Way. Pilgrims have left a stone at the foot of the cross since the 12th century along with their prayers, petitions, and wishes. Your stone may join those that have accumulated from all the pilgrims who have come before you.
Accommodations in Sarria

DAY 4 Peruscallo – Mercadoiro – 6 mi
Our day offers breathtaking and unforgettable scenery… We’ll start under the shade of centenary oaks and we’ll be embraced by their peace and wisdom, inspiring us to move forward and find our own path. Allow yourself to breathe and just enjoying the aroma of nature, the gentle breeze and all the colors as if you were standing inside an old master’s painting!
Tonight, we’ll be staying under the eternal Galician hospitality and we’ll gather around the table under the magic of a very special chef!
Accommodations in Palas de Rei
DAY 5 Portomarin – Vendas de Narón – 8 mi
We’ll start our day from the interesting church of San Juan and San Nicolas of Portomarin. Built in the 12th century by the Knights of San Juan de Jerusalem had to be “transported”, stone by stone, in 1962, from the river shore to the place where it stands today. Hard to believe, but true!
We’ll finish our day in Castromaior, place where a Castro (anciet fortification) from the 5th century BC, still stands and rules..
Accommodations in Palas de Rei

DAY 6 Palas de Rei – Melide – 9 mi
Today’s path takes us near of Pico Sacro, where legends states it is populated by dragons, fighting bulls, and converted Queens. Our path continues across the ancient granite bridge of Pontecampaña and to Casanova amidst a fabulous and mystical forest. Walking over Roman road and the elegant Medieval Bridge of Disicabo, we’ll reach Melide, famous for its juicy octopus!
Accommodations in Arzúa

DAY 7 Arzúa to Brea – 8 mi
Small and quiet villages where haystacks, bread ovens, medieval bucolic bridges, huts, and carts pulled by oxen, will transport us to the ancestral Galician rural landscape allowing us to enjoy and relax along on dirt roads where scents and sounds of nature prevail and colorful flowers and songbirds reign.
Accommodations in Milladoiro

DAY 8 – Mount of Joy to Santiago de Compostela – 3,5 mi
Today’s is a day of celebration, fullfilment and a little bittersweet, too. Our special adventure is reaching its final destination and we can almost miss our new friends, the relaxing morning walks along nature, the amazing talks along the way, the special Masses and all the joyful meals that we had together!
But, even though, it’s time to celebrate, attend to your special Botafumeiro Ceremony and to let all the good emotions, all the joy and all the good feelings be released and shared!
After a free afternoon, at 5 pm, we’ll get together for a guided tour around Santiago´s old town and we’ll coronate this meaningful experience with a beautiful fairwell dinner, filled with surprises and smiles!
